Revision TKR Lovetocookandsew’s long road to recovery

@lovetocookandsew , thought of you today. Thought I would say hi! It has been a long time since I looked at this website. It will be 20 months for me on June 3rd since my revision. Overall, I am 80-90 % fine. My knee still has some internal swelling that bothers me when my knee is at a 90 degree...

Revision TKR My Revision after a Loose Implant

@Jean houston, a regular x-ray should show if your knee replacement is loose. Then they do a bone scan that should confirm it. They also, do blood work to rule out infection. My original knee replacement hurt from the beginning. It was hard to lean over and touch the floor without tibia pain. My...

Revision TKR Never give up, keep trying, don't settle - that's me, Bonnie

@RunA42K, I looked into that clinical trail and when they told me it involved injecting Capsaicin (chili peppers) into the knee, I thought twice about it! Let me know if you get in and if it works. I might reconsider it for my other knee.

Revision TKR My Revision after a Loose Implant

Update: Great news....My CT scan today did not show any loose patella button and the femur and tibial implants looked good. They were not loose either! I think my pain is from the IT band. My TENs unit helps plus ES Tylenol prn.:merry-xmas-smiley-emoticon: and...

    Revision TKR Patella Button Failure

@Double Trouble, Did they have to open you up again like a TKR revision? Is your scar as big for the revision? So, you say the surgery and recovery isn't as bad as a revision?

    TKR Loosening of implant.

@bookread, did you have to fast for 4 hrs prior to the CT scan? Did you have to drink any prep?

    TKR Loosening of implant.

@ Jockette, I don't think so. I didn't ask. I believe it is iodine they inject via IV. My internist ask me if I want contrast and I said, why not! I just found out I have to drink something plus get something thru an IV. They said I would have to fast even if it was without contrast! :nah...

    TKR Loosening of implant.

@bookread, I am having a CT scan of my Left knee on Dec. 18th. Do I need to have contrast with this scan or is without fine? If I have it with contrast, they want me to fast 4 hrs. before.....I don't want to do that!

    Revision TKR Patella Button Failure

@Double Trouble, good post. I might be having a loose patella button with my revision. I saw my internist yesterday and she ordered a CT scan with and without contrast so we can see what is going on! I will let you know when I know something. Take care.

    Revision TKR Motherbone's Recovery Thread

Before I had my revision, I had to have a stress test. On the report it said I had a previous MI but the stress test was normal! My cardiologist that looks after my AFIB said the leads were misplaced and I did not have a MI because the stress test was normal. I had the cardiologist that read the...

Revision TKR Lovetocookandsew’s long road to recovery

@lovetocookandsew, I'm so sorry this is happening to you! I'm beginning to think something is wrong with my revision too, like a loose patella button. I see my internist this coming Friday and I am going to ask her to order me a CT scan to see what is going on. These doctors make me sick that...

Revision TKR Knee Replacement Replacement 1/9/19

I have been wondering about that! My Revision OS said, "you expect too much out of your revision" when I saw him at nine months. That kinda threw me off. I really respect him as a revision specialist. I do wonder if he made the wrong decision not to replace my patella button, though. It feels...

    TKR Loosening of implant.

@bookread, so the incision isn't as long as if a TKR?

Revision TKR Hmm. Not thrilled with the revision yet<

I'm experiencing that too today! Revision hurts (sore/swelling), temp dropped 10 degrees.
