I thought I'd just check in with an update, for anyone in the first 3-6 months....there really is light at the end of the tunnel Lost my dad earlier this year and there have been so many tough days, but really really...

Strange days.... Currently working from home, trying to keep a team together and also dealing with my very poorly dad. Visiting hospital much reduced at the moment, but the palliative ward is much more flexible. I've read a few posts on here and see that our whole world is in the same daze, so...

19 weeks in and went shopping for shoes on Saturday Discovered that whilst I managed to make it (slowly) round 5 shoe shops....the constant sitting standing trying on was not great....and my new knee has apparently not cured my loathing of shoe shopping!!! My first big work function on...

@ApricotPie I had similar problems in hospital....my feet were continually off the end of the bed....then...on day 4...just before I was 'released ', a young nurse came in and said, why has noone extended this bed...:rotfl::elevate: She gave me another 6 inches of comfort....:sigh:

@Celle I totally agree particularly about the leg extension machine. ..I wont be doing them again...ever!!! What was even worse is that I'm tall... 6'1".... and the physio was about 5'5" .... so she didn't adjust the leg length properly and the thing was rolling up onto my shins...even after...

Was just saying today....everything I did used to be centred on my knee.... do a bit, have a rest, do a bit more...sit down...and this was before my operation!! Now...I'm just doing stuff...slowly.....and carefully.....but my issue is now tightness and swelling and I KNOW that will eventually...

After working from home yesterday...knee rested up , I was back into the office today for around 3.5 hours. I tried to move every 30 mins....I used 2 of those single use icepacks (they are pretty useless I find....once this box of 20 is gone I wont bother with any more) Came home, elevated...

Back to work yesterday and confirmation that this recovery is indeed a rollercoaster! I drove in , was ok, even stopped for my coffee at my usual cafe where it was nice to be welcomed back to 'normal ' and was in the office from about 7.30-11am... But a new pain :gaah: Sharp pain appeared in...

The whole measurement thing is just bizarre ... I reached the age of 52 without knowing that there was such a thing as a ROM measurement! 2 weeks before my TKR...my dodgy knee was measured at 115/0 (my good knee was 125/-5) My surgeon said pre op ROM is a good indicator of potential post...

9 weeks post op I had my follow up with OS yesterday and it seems we're both delighted with progress He was happy with my bend (didn't measure it, could just see how I was sitting and moving about) and said I'll have a similar great progress over the next 8 weeks. He got me to raise my leg...

Hi @luvcats I intend to be in much earlier on Monday ..makes a big difference if I leave the house by 7am, the journey is more like 35-40 mins instead of an hour, the downside being having to speed up my morning prep.... funny thing being away for 9 weeks...you forget your normal morning...

I'm intending to start back at work on Monday. We've agreed that I'll go in for a couple of hours to catch up and bring some work home....then go back in wed & fri for 2 hours each time. The main purpose being to get a 'mental ' return! And I'll definitely get more done at home with my laptop...
