Hi Don @Legin thanks for your message. Interesting about the Gabapenttin....I am certainly quite crabby these days and have been putting it down to being tired and fed up of aching back and knee. I have very little patience with anything....not like me at all. I will see my GP about Pregabalin...
Hi @Nana moon 27 I meant to reply but forgot!!!! Sorry!!! My knee is not brilliant...have put a few pounds on and that doesn't help!! I blame the Gabapentin I take for Restless Leg Syndrome. I've tried doing without but can't sleep as my legs twitch and move. It's a horrible feeling...
I read your responses and think rest is probably going to help...Unfortunately have had ny 8 year old granddaughter to stay since Good Friday till tomorrow (yaaay roll on tomorrow!!!!) So resting has been difficult if not impossible. I haven't been able to have her stay for nearly a year ad I've...
Am about 11 weeks out now and not feeling that bright. Good bend, almost straight, managing stairs (just) sleeping ok. On Gabepentin for restless legs and sciatica. I have pain/deep ache in the groin and inside of thigh and in my ankle and it's getting worse, not better. I've had discomfort...
Bought a little plastic device called a Goniometer from Amazon, very cheap about £4 I think. It measures angles and you just bend your knee and rest it against your leg and measure the angle. I measured my ROM myself it was 120. Had a physio appt and asked her to check....she pulled out the same...
There are two very well-kept secrets in this world, and one of them is how much childbirth hurts. (unless you're one of those strange people who say "Pain? What pain? Loved every minute of it, it was a beautiful, life-affirming experience ". And other well-kept secret (unless you find the...
Ah yes - stamina! I remember that!!!! I'm walking every day but feel like a limp dish-rag afterwards. I've been recuperating at ny partner's house in Cheshire, which has stairs, which are a trial. But today am going back to my flat, in my lovely Ulverston, which only has stairs on the way...
7 weeks out today, knee is brilliant during the day. Good bend and almost straight. I walk without a limp and without a stick or crutches though I tend to take one for security if I'm going to be in a crowd. Still bothered by hip pain which chiropractor says is sacroiliac joint. Ice...
@vinny .... I always say Hi to the guys when I nip into town. I always used to walk into town (Ulverston is a little market town with original cobbled streets and THE best coffee shops/cafes and I used to call into a different one almost every day....cherry scones, yum yum) Haven't been able...
@vinny this is a full photo of Stan and Ollie's statue, with me and my grandaughter Chloe, about 4 years ago when I could still crouch down! (Not done that for quite a while!!!!!)

Hi @vinny my sciatica-type pain came on a few weeks AFTER my surgery! Am seeing another doctor next week so will report back. The lovely fellow in my photo is indeed Stan Laurel. He was born in Ulverston in Cumbria (it used to be called Lancashire, and is in North West England) where I now...
@Ellejay my friend had the same thing with when her elderly mum was ill.....she would say to my friend that no-one else came, as she had forgotten. So someone suggested the family write notes to her, in a big note book with a thick pen, and leave it by her bed for the nurses to read out to...
@Pumpkln I have the same problem with my sticky-out bits touching the tablet and changing things. I turn it completely round (upside down) so the controls are at the top, not the bottom, and away from my bits! ( I have to make sure the "screen rotation " is on so I can view everything upside...
@suedobie Step gran is a difficult path to tread! A mine field!!!!! I'm Nana to my own 8 year old grandaughter. And an unofficial (I live with but am not married to Grandad) step-gran to 18 month old cutie. I tend to keep quiet....LOL (Which as anyone who knows me would tell you is...
Decided to go back on regular painkillers becauee of the sciatica. My knee is fine unless I turn over in bed without thinking! I have about 120° flexion but not quite straight yet. Letting the knee "dangle" (by resting foot on a rolled up towel or on a chair) is so difficult and can't do more...
Thanks @Threads I didn't know that either!!!!!! Now I'm on Bonesmart 2 as well.....just goes to show - and I'm always saying this to my partner (who ignores me. Of course ) "When all else fails, read the directions".....:rotfl:
@Nana moon 27 I turn my Samsung tablet upside down (screen location) so my boobs/muffin top doesn't change/turn things off. Must have forgotten the other day and changed the format. Changed it back now....:snork:
@Ellejay @suedobie When my 8 year old grandaughter comes to stay I always say "Nana's house, Nana's rules" !!!!! (My mum always said it but she was "Grandma"......I've ended up Nana)
My Samsung Galaxy tablet (android) had changed the format a couple of days ago, and was missing age, location, etc from Avatar box. I changed to "desktop view" and it all came back!
@Josephine Hi - my Samsung Galaxy tablet had somehow changed the format (all by itself? Or maybe me, I dunno) so clicked on"desktop view" and it all changed back again the way it was. Perfick. Glad you slept.
