Update on the foot pain--The doctor looked at it, felt here and pressed there, asked if it hurt, and said there seem to be some bone spurs in there, and it's just some arthritis. His recommendation is to ignore it.

As I was being encouraged to do heel slides as far as I could today, I did get the "no pain, no gain" meme from the PT, but at no time did I feel any real pressure to go beyond the point of discomfort.
