Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my old friends. Well, first day of snow here in Massachusetts and it is true, the surgeon replaced my old knee with a weather knee. I knew something was coming since my new knee never gives me grief....as a matter of fact, I never feel pain anymore. But...
Only my pride was injured that day @Celle..i made sure I iced all that night and the next day as well. I am so happy with my knee I wish I had done this year's ago.
Well, hi to all my old friends....i have been following each and every one of your threads closely....but I just had to hop on this coaster ride to tell you about my latest mishap. Took my son to the beach for a few days, and I must say, the knee did quite well- of course I wore my neoprene...
I just want to say thank you for all the kind words, the past on the backs and all the support that was given to me through this website. I don't know if my sanity would have held out without you all. I must bid a parting farewell until my next knee... I guess sometime next year. I hope to meet...
@momweb... Once you start driving again you'll feel like that teenager who just got her license... Making excuses to run out to the store. It really boosted up my morale 100%!!
Boy, to think we made it this far is amazing.. Isn't it @tigz? I think they give us those strong narcotics in the beginning so we forget just how much pain we had. I was just talking to a friend of mine saying that I think I'll do my other knee in the spring since it wasn't that bad, and she...
Boy, those look just like my knees-scar is identical, too. Did you decide when to get your other knee done, Jean? I think I might go around April.. Don't think my right knee can last much longer. Congrats on your outcome... Wasn't it a piece of cake?
12 weeks and hit 115/0 ROM!!! Never thought i would get there- didn't even hurt, either. PT had me balance on a balance board today... Also said I will be graduating after next week- no more visits- I'm kind of sad ( never thought I would say that)!! The turtle is finally close to the finish...
Roxie- I can't say if it's the kinesio tape or the compression sleeve, but I have noticed a big difference in my swelling and stiffness-,went to PT today and my ROM was 115/0. Wow- I was just hitting 95 with pain not too long ago. So, something is working - I will continue with both. I have...
I tape about once a week now, keeping it on for two to three days. This week I have a tape running down my incision to help with sensitivity and for a sun block since we are headed to Maine on Wednesday... can't wait to walk on the beach!
My OS gave three months of narcotics- would write a script for 100 at a time- after the three month period you couldn't get anymore. I felt that was reasonable, for by 12weeks you really can get by on just motrin. You had major surgery that takes a long time to heal @simryg..i would let him know...
Maybe it's all this humidity in the northeast,@simryg that's giving us more aches and pains. I would call your MD back and get back on the oxycodone..maybe Just take a lower dose?
