TKR 11 Months Since TKR still swollen and sore
I'm 11 months since surgery and still surprised I still have some swelling and soreness. When I try to bend my leg to the side as to look at the bottom of my foot or to pumice it, I can't hardly do so. It hurts to move in that direction. And it's still a lot bigger than my other knee...- karmakat

Well, I finally decided to get a TKR on my left knee -- scheduled for July 7. In the massive ring binder of instructions (didn't expect that!) Finally got my courage up and scheduled surgery for July 7 on my left knee for a TKR. I've been given a binder with lots of info and exercises to do. In one section it lists all the things to do prior to morning surgery. It includes "enema"!! What? Does that mean a laxative the night before...- karmakat

Thank you for these helpful words. Yes, it is even hard to get to the mailbox!! And I have started using a cane, so I guess it is time. I miss walks with my granddaughter and will look forward to that I hope.- karmakat

I have bone on bone arthritis in my knee and Dr. said TKR is what is needed. I'm nervous after reading articles about blood clots, infections, etc. As of now, I use a cane to get around better and have tried cortisone shots.
