    TKR Hawkie's Sunbeam Journey

Hi Hawk, It has been awhile. Glad to hear you are doing so well. I'm about where you are. My non-TKR knee is better than it was now that my TKR knee is so much stronger, but I continue to have pain/discomfort descending stairs of a certain height. No problem going down. I guess I'm fine with...

Revision TKR Totally recovered at last!

I am so glad you were able to get a revision prior to one year. You are not far behind Braunzie and me! Yay!

TKR Over doing or not doing enough?

@Braunzie I read you had a layover in Minneapolis. You should have looked me up. We could have toasted our 1-year old knees! Let me know when you pick the date for knee two. Seems we are the good luck twins. @hawk2go so glad you bounded down the steps. I know this last issue will be gone soon...

    TKR Slainte's Big Adventure

What a great report. It took me back. At this time last year I was 10 days post-op and yup all I cared about was the next pain pill and graduating to the cane. Life is so much better today. Patience to all in early recovery Slainte is right, it gets much better with each passing week.

    TKR Slainte's Big Adventure

I am so glad you are back to kayaking! Yay!!!!!! I remember talking to you about that months ago. I have not yet gotten in a kayak myself yet, but when I am at a lake where there are Kayakers, I start to visualize getting in and out of one. It is coming!

TKR The Odyssey of My Newfangled Knee

I agree. A second opinion from someone not associated with your OS sounds like an excellent decision. Good luck and keep us posted.

TKR Braunzie's Journey on "The Other Side"?

Hey there, Looks like we are in just about the same spot. Congrats on doing so well. Isn't it great to be able to focus on something other than our knees? Looking forward to reading your 18-month post. :egypdance::happydance::cheers:

TKR Over doing or not doing enough?

I have officially passed the one-year mark. My surgery was July 13, 2016. It is a nice milepost to have behind me. All in all, I am doing great. I walk for miles without pain. I cross-country ski. I bike 25-plus miles. And all without pain. I have only two minor issues, my knee sometimes clicks...

    TKR Hawkie's Sunbeam Journey

You sound great! Yay! Glad your other knee is behaving. I think my non-TKR knee is stronger than it was before surgery because I am now more active. I am also glad I got my left knee done so that it will be strong when I get the second one done. Glad you are doing so well and wishing you a calm...

TKR Can lost ROM be regained

Hang in there Magic! Glad to hear the shingles are improving and so happy to hear you have a very helpful husband so you don't have to deal with it alone.

    TKR ironclm's recovery

Hi there, I too had a long relationship with my two PTs when they told me there was nothing more they could do for me, I was devastated. It felt like a death sentence, but actually they were telling me you are doing great and the rest is up to you and will just take time. I am swimming, biking...

TKR Can lost ROM be regained

I am not a dancer but I too am having more problems than I thought I would at this stage in recovery, about 11 months post-op. I don't know if my problems are worse or better than anyone else's but I do know there are enough of us that are taking the full one-year-plus to recover, and that makes...

TKR Braunzie's Journey on "The Other Side"?

Hello there, I too am starting to think that my new knee will never be perfect, but my natural knee was far from perfect as well. And I guess I'm okay with that. But to tell you the truth, I'm waiting to make a final determination until July 13, our magic one-year anniversary. I'm still having...

Bummer Magic! You have been through enough! Hopefully the shingles will subside very soon.

Revision TKR Totally recovered at last!

I have a Bianchi road bike. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to mount and dismount after my surgery that I considered spending $500 on a Bianchi step-through bike, but thankfully my husband and the nice young man at my local bike shop talked me out of it. My old road bike fits me and I am used...

Revision TKR Totally recovered at last!

Hi Newlybionic, I was just thinking about you and decided to write. As the rest of us "July Sparklers" approach our year anniversary (okay still a few weeks out), you can be thankful that you did not have to wait the full year before receiving your revision. It sounds like you are doing...

    TKR Hawkie's Sunbeam Journey

Hawk, nice to hear from you! I could have basically posted the same report--down to the last line: I am still reluctant to consider the right TKR. I was in Europe last week and there are stairs everywhere. Approaching a stair case was really the only time I thought about my knee in Europe, but...
