    [TKR] DLR recovery #2

Well at my PT’s suggestion I went to see my family doctor. She thinks a fair bit of the pain is inflammation, as I had a weeks relief back in July after using 12 hour Advil with 8 hour Tylenol for 3 weeks, the after stopping the Advil the pain returned. She has put me on regular icing and...

We went home and had a quiet evening legs elevated. I got into bed and rolled onto my side and level 10 pain through the knee, I tried...

    [TKR] DLR recovery #2

@Josephine thanks. At physio they notice there is more “play” in the knee compared to my other one. Tested by the pull on the lower leg as you would to check an ACL or PCL tear.

    [TKR] DLR recovery #2

@Josephine you said you don’t like the pattern..do you have an idea what’s going on? Am I at risk of further damage if I continue day to day living activities in spite of weight bearing pain. Not by any means wanting to put you on the spot but here in Canada I may wait a month or two for an...

    [TKR] DLR recovery #2

@Josephine I need your expertise. I am 15 weeks post LTKR. Recovery is going very well in that my ROM is 135/0, I can bicycle outside with no concerns , driving, sitting are all great. Walking is a different matter, I get level 7 pain dead centre in the front of the knee. There is no swelling...

    [TKR] Marie’s TKR Journey

Squatting hasn’t worked for me either. I bend from the waist but now that both knees are done I have to teach myself to also bend my knees a little while I bend from the waist. That way you save the back. Marie if you go ahead with the 2nd knee just remember each knee is different. I am 14 weeks...

    [TKR] DLR recovery #2

@Lucy1 I did know right away my knees were straight because I could put my ankles together when sitting with them elevated. I couldn’t do that before except with great effort. That said, it didn’t always look corrected, it depended on swelling and fatigue but as time goes on I am well aware they...

    [TKR] DLR recovery #2

Good morning All! Just writing to hopefully encourage those on the journey. I am 10 months post RTKR and 12 weeks post LTKR. Both knees were valgus and therefore lots of post surgery ITband and hamstring pain as they have and are adjusting to the straightened knee causing increased stretching. I...

[KNEE INFECTION] Right TKR revision from staph infection<

Good to hear how it’s going. Sounds like you need suspenders for that brace. I don’t know whether a layer of moleskin would help. After all the trauma it’s not surprising that incision has said “enough already”.

10 weeks... I am currently going to physio 2 times a week. She is doing deep massage, dry needling, cupping massage, tens and ultrasound. All have helped the hamstrings and it band stretch out to the new normal. My chiropractor is working on nerve pain referred from the lumbar area...
