TKR How often and how far should you walk 3 month post op

I'm nearly 2 months and do 2 walks a day totalling 3 to 4,000 steps. How far are you going? To add context 10,000 a day is what I'm aiming for....eventually. I struggle with more than 2 miles at a time.

Yet another question. I'm now over 7 weeks post op. Pain, or more accurately, ache still there all the time, along with stiffness. I had one physio session at 3 weeks and then left to carry on. I am walking about 3 to 4,000 steps a day and stretching when I can. Someone suggested static...

6 weeks today. Trying to remember how far I've come. Now happily going out without stick and feeling more confident that nothing bad is going to happen. Still struggling with going downstairs properly and knee complains bitterly if I get over confident. Sleep is getting a bit better, but...

Now nearly 4 weeks into recovery. Saw physio last week who is happy with progress. However I now seem to have stopped improving. Still having pain, not able to properly heel toe walk, hubby says I'm swaying rather than walking properly. Stayed at home yesterday as thoroughly fed up. When...

    THR Need to gain weight

Hi dog lover. I have the same problem. Try and eat every 3 hours, protein bars, yoghurt. I sprinkle grated cheese over meals, have full fat milk and at least I'm no longer loosing weight. My husband too is trying to loose weight so understand your difficulties. Keep in touch.

Progress seems to have stalled managing short walks outside with one crutch and hubby to ensure not barged into. Island is packed with visitors for TT races. Just knee bend not improving. Will see what physio has to say on Wednesday.

TKR Left TKR on the 10th of May

My tkr was 10th May too. How are you pain wise? I'm struggling with aching leg and lack of sleep. Although have not had any bleeding. Sounds as if you are doing well my progress hasn't been checked yet. 1st June before I see physio. Hopefully they won't push me too hard!

12 days now its almost time for bed, so tired can't wait. Unfortunately when I do get a few hours sleep I wake up in so much pain and stiffness and walk around groaning! Then I can't sleep any more. At the moment I'm taking paracetamol 3 times a day as prescribed. Then before sleep stronger...

    TKR 10 may op

Now 10 days post op. Yesterday I clocked up 2,000 steps as I felt good and wanted a bit of fresh air. Today the knee is swollen and feeling so down. Trying to do exercises but am so disheartened, never realised how draining the pain would be. Still no news of physio appointment (NHS) had...

Thank you camcol nice to know your opinion on exercise. Can't believe what a wuss I am. So difficult to get comfortable. Not taking opoids as the constipation is a spectre at this feast. Sleep would be nice at the moment I doze off and wake moaning in pain. What joy!
