    TKR 7.5 years later.....

Hi! My last post was 3rd December 2013 to ‘celebrate’ my 1 year TKR. Well I guess it would be fair to say my recovery hasn’t been the best. Continuous problems with the knee which has recently seen me diagnosed with CRPS (Complex regional pain syndrome) Basically been told that nothing can be...

Bilateral TKR I Can't Believe It...I Did It!!!

Hi Pam, Not sure if this reply will be any help or not but thought I'd say it anyway! I had an MUA at 9 weeks after TKR. Have to say the pain & recovery was awful. Waking up from the MUA was worse than the original knee replacement. Anyway, I'm now 21 months post op. Although my surgeon managed...

    TKR Back for the LTKR

Hi Laura! Wow, a long time since I've been on here! Glad to hear you are doing so well so soon! Well jealous of the 90 ROM! 21 months since my original replacement & I can only achieve 100. Just to say keep up with the good work & you'll be running before you know it...even if you didn't do it...

    TKR MUA

Hi pm, Just a quick note from me. I had an MUA at 9 weeks post op as ROM was around 80 and really couldn't make any gain. So desperate was I to see some results I went ahead...OMG :-( For me, at this point it was a BIG MISTAKE. Basically my big, swollen, angry knee was 'forced to bend' so became...

TKR Everything Comes to She Who Waits

Evening Carol! I know, your thinking, "Who the hell are you?"!!! I was just reading through your thread...100's & 100's of posts! Unfortunately it didn't make happy reading in the respect of what you've been going through  Just to say I had an MRI recently & my knee is metal and let's...

TKR Everything Comes to She Who Waits

Sorry Carol, didn't mean to make you weepy  I see now that your 14 months post op so really I think long enough to expect the healing process to have finished pretty much & 'normal life' to have resumed. Having said that, the extreme nerve pain I had in my thigh I thought was going to stay...

TKR Everything Comes to She Who Waits

Hello lovely Carol :) Right, just remind me how long since your TKR op? I am now nearly 17 months post op & the ONLY thing I can say about this whole procedure is at least I don't have the bone on bone pain. I DO have issues with ROM which I'm told is 110 but I reckon is more like 100. I also...

    MUA 11 Months Ouch

Hi! Just to add that I had an MUA just short of 9 weeks post op. I was told that to get the best outcome it needed to be done sooner rather than later...how I wished I'd waited a little while longer  ROM was 'stuck' at 80 & I was desperate to see an improvement. The outcome was the surgeon...

TKR Everything Comes to She Who Waits

Hi Carol. Thought I'd post on your thread as I'm sure mine is in the " Forever moaning, remove out of sight to save others sanity" area! Basically, saw my surgeon. He is still happy with the knee. ROM by jointly pushing & gritting of teeth was 110 & extension at 5 so much better than I had...

Hi Sue, Just wanted to add that I too am thinking of you. As my stalker, Carol has pointed out to me, I need to get off my backside & seek some help in sorting out my leg problems. Reading your posts, the one thing that comes across loud & clear is that the NHS are trying to look after you...

    TKR Hello from the UK!

Who knows Carol  I keep thinking about the possibility of bone damage but I'm sure at near on 11 months out it would have naturally healed itself? Also, I don't have the pain all the time...thank god! I feel like my surgeon has done his job with the actual replacement & isn't too bothered...
