    [THR] Here We Go Again!

:loveshwr:Good afternoon @Barbaraj. It's been 11 months since my 2nd RTHR, Oct 2018. At that time you were talking about 'some day' for your 2nd replacement. I'm glad that you didn't put if off too long as you were so uncomfortable when I was on Bonesmart in January. I was shocked that my 2nd...

    Gearing Up for Round Two

I was just catching up my 'thread' and thought I'd catch up with you. And here you are preparing for your 2nd hip. I had my LTHR done April 2015 and my right hip was perfect then. Come April 2018 and my xray showed I had no cartilage left! I had a shot that worked until I walked all over Rome &...

Well I guess it's been a while since I've posted last. 9 mos since my surgery. Just amazing. I returned to PT at 7 mos for a tuneup. My IT bands were acting up in both legs. I'd been doing pool exercises religiously, but I also needed to ramp them up to get more strength in my legs. I had 6...

[THR] A not great first day home...

Check the Surgeons Protocol that is with your release paperwork. It should have all meds listed as well as ‘exercises’ that you can do. I did go to rehab. My OS was not happy, he was worried about infection. I was glad I did as I had a couple of issues that they could handle easily. Take...

    [THR] Wcgirl again painting rainbows

I’m finally back to Burdenko pool exercises. But in betweentime when I sit too long after a ‘busy’ spell of errands in & out of the car and a mile long walk with or without cane, I feel like I have bricks instead of feet! Let’s see, checking my calendar— I’m 3 1/2 half months... Well! No wonder...

    [THR] Are We There Yet?

@Barbaraj it sounds like your cloudy weather, that I would experience in February in New England, got you down a bit. Thank you for sharing how that affects how you feel about your recovery. Feelings of isolation & self doubt are pretty sneaky for me as well. I love your posts here, so positive...

    [THR] Wcgirl again painting rainbows

Went for an overnight trip. Preparing for the trip and closing up my home got my IT Band in a snit. I had to use my cane the whole day! That was a bit scary! After some of my early PT bed exercises and a wonderful night sleep I was back walking as well as I had been before. Great day sightseeing...

    [THR] Wcgirl again painting rainbows

Busy busy after a short uneventful flight. I only travel with a carryon and ship a box to arrive when I do. I have workers here repairing 2017 hurricane damage. I have settled in the guest room and bath, hoping that the work would be done last week. Guests will be here in & out for the month, 3...

    [THR] Are We There Yet?

@Barbaraj I've been busy this last month and missed most of your Holiday posts. I so appreciate your newsy posts. I enjoy following you as your THR was about 2 weeks before mine. I get to keep my expectations realistic as I read what you are able to do! A good friend from PNW will join me here...

@lovesstars I love how you think about things and then write in a way that I cannot. You speak to me. Thank you for sharing.

    Cortisone injection

So sorry to hear about your pain. Here is my experience; LTHR I had two shots 6 mos apart that actually allowed me to postpone surgery for a year. I also dedicated myself to Burdenko Method in the pool to keep up range of motion ROM.( I have done these exercises in the pool 3x week every week...

    [THR] Wcgirl again painting rainbows

10 weeks I’m starting to walk upstairs step over step. A little nervous yet going down. Not in the pool yet. It needs an adjustment. Still need my 30 minutes stretch out. :alarm: Trying to walk but need to get to the track nearby. Macadam is sooo hard! I’ve postponed Christmas until January! My...

    [THR] Seeing the Light!

I announced to my family that this season I am taking off the pressure and celebrating Christmas in January! My son got a good laugh out of that. But a person can only do what a person can do! 10 weeks and counting...

    [THR] Hopefully Hippy Recovery

Wow @SurreyGirl! I’m just catching up and glad to hear the worst is over! I enjoyed your Checklist as I’m always wondering when things will pass. So I have 2 more months of sock tool! My OS repeated quite insistently that I take antibiotics for dental work! Could be worse! :eeeuw:

    [THR] Seeing the Light!

@lovesstars I have experience on sand! Bring your cane. Looser sand is very challenging and you'll be sore after, footwear helps. Hard packed is better. If you are only walking a short distance to stick your toes in the water, it's all good! It's so good to get a change of scenery! Best Wishes...

    [THR] Wcgirl again painting rainbows

Thanks @Barbaraj. Its a bad memory and will be taken care of. I left bitter cold and soon to be snowy Cape Cod. I’m in FL to continue my rehab in warmer weather where I don’t have to suit up to stay warm. Yesterday (at 9 weeks) was a long travel day. Today I’m getting settled and resting in...

Oh @Jaycey the pin pricks & bruises are gone now. When I bend over at my waist with pressure I find a couple of small lumps where I was injecting the lovenox.

Thank you @Mojo333 $ @Layla. I’m doing well. I did have a question. I had Lovenox injections. I do have a couple of small lumps where I had black & blues from the shots. I don’t remember having them w my first hip. Is there anything I can do - massage them away? Thank you! Enjoy this Holiday...
