:banghead::bawl::bawl::bawl: We'll, if it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have none at all!!!! Hubby and I got all ready to go on the drive to the surgeon this morning. Locked up the house, loaded the truck, and put a cooler of drinks in the back seats. Ready set...and DEAD BATTERY!!!!!!! My husband had hooked up a small tire airing unit to the battery last night. The little compressor runs off the car battery and you air up the tires. Well, he must have left it on there too long!! He's never aired up all four truck tires with it before, so now we know that it just pulls too much juice. Not much consolation for me as I had to call the surgeon and hospital and get a reschedule!!

At this point, I'm waiting for them to call me back with a new appointment. It's a juggling act to get the CT scans and the surgeons office visit on the same day, so who knows how long it will be.

Needless to say, I am bummed out. :banghead:

@Titianlady
:yikes: So Sorry you missed your O.S. Appointment. I will keep my Prayers & Good Wishes
Going for you for however long you need them :angel:

Thank you so much @bottomshollow It feels good to be back regardless of the circumstances!! I''ll deal with whatever comes along. In the grand scheme of things, this is just a bump in the road...things could be so much worse I know.

Whatever happens, I know I can come here and be cheered up, comforted, and share some wonderful laughs and advise from the best folks anywhere. It feels like home, and we all know, there's no place like home!:yahoo:

YIPPEEEEE!!! Got another appointment for my tests and office visit for this coming Monday!! I didn't have to wait forever after all!! I'm not thrilled that it's going to be late in the afternoon, and that means we will hit all the commuter traffic on the freeway though..Scans are at 2:30PM and surgeons visit is at 3:30 PM. We'll probably not be home before 7 to 7:30, but will do what we need to.

This time hubby will be sure to make sure our truck is not going to die ! LOL. It's only a few years old, so a bad battery should be all that hubby needs to keep better tabs on!!!!

So glad they could get you in so quickly! Enjoy the weekend.

@Orthodoc @Josephine HELP!! I had all my CT scans full leg, and x-rays and saw my surgeon today. He can find no reason why my knee hurts so badly!!

It crunches, bites, hurts so badly I can hardly walk on it. It also feels like there is too much in there, and the knee just feels wrong. Nothing out of the ordinary on the ct or x-rays.

I feel that maybe the femoral component is too big. Surgeon said he can go in and remove the button from the kneecap and make it slightly thinner. The spacer is just fine..not too thick or thin.

I cannot live with it like this and am just beside myself. What can this painful knee be?? It's not tendons, nor muscles. The knee bites and crunches.

Oh, Titianlady, This is not good. I was afraid that this might be. I was nerves all day thinking about you. I sent prays eveytime I thought of you. When he goes in to remove the button he could find a surprise. On the good side its not infected. The kids are not happy about this.:boohoo::cry::bawl::bawl:So they will send you some:flwrysmile::prayer::angel::console2::console2::console2::console2:. Please take care. Tashia and the Kids.

I am sorry that your OS thought everything was fine. Can you get a second opinion from another OS? That is what I would do. Someone in a completely different practice that does revisions. Good luck!

Post your x rays when you obtain them from you OS medical records office.

@Titianlady
Hi Toni,
I am so sorry you didn't get an answer to your problem :console2:If it hurts for you to walk
Then something is not right. I agree with the others, Get a 2nd opinion from a different Doctor.
You need a different set of eyes to review the problems you are having. Also, Post your X-rays
For Josephine to look at. Do you have the written report from your Scans ? If there is something
You don't understand post it, someone here will know what it means.
We are all here for you :friends:

He can find no reason why my knee hurts so badly!!
Oh really? My red flag went up when I read this in your first post
My surgeon does revisions on his own original patients
My question is WHY is he doing all his own revisions? A decent surgeon should have that number of problems. This tells me you should find another surgeon who is impartial and likely to be able to be more helpful to you.

To all those reading this, please take this on board - if you have problems with your replacement, never have it dealt with by the original surgeon. Always go to an impartial surgeon who is in no way connected with the first.

The surgeon has the x-rays. However, I have the report..it was 2 sentences.. It states,normal, perfect alignment, no bony protrusions. In other words, nothing amiss that can be seen on the x-rays or the CT!!

The knee has always felt like there is too much there.

I will try and look for a good revision surgeon. Thank you so much for your feedback

Well, this morning I got a personal call from my surgeon. He said he pictured me walking there in his office all night long and he just will not let me go on like I am. He said my femor may be coming a bit forward when I step down and that's why I have that slight buckling forward thing. Come to find out, he has done primary and revision surgeries for years and is thinking about replacing my implant with a slightly more constrained one.

He gave me his personal cell phone number, and told me to call him in the morning and we will talk over all of my options, answer all my questions.
I am very concerned about that constrained implant. The ones I have seen have long stems that go into the femor. I'm NOT keen on that at all. I also do not want to loose my ROM!!!

I have a lot to think about. Needless to say I am not a happy lady

@Titianlady
Good Morning Toni :)
You need to step back & take a deep breathe. Please do not agree to have more surgery
Until you have gotten a 2nd & possibly 3rd opinion :beg:If the C.T & X-ray's say no problems
I would hate that your Surgeon is just "Guessing":sad: It is obvious there is a problem, you need
To find out what it is.
I know it has been a long road for you, Please concentrate on getting a 2nd opinion from an
Independent Revision Specialist.
Thinking of you :console2:
