THR BeBe finally!!!

:praying: for you and sympathy over the incident.
I hyper extended my leg badly stepping on to a vinyl floor with wet shoe...hurt, but scared me worse.
I sat down and cried too.
It took about a week before it got over being super sore.
Hope today is a better day.
Hugs @BeBe :console2:

Aww, BeBe, I'm so sorry you continue to struggle with such pain.
I wish you'd begin to feel some relief. You will continue to be in my prayers. :prayer:
I hope today is a good one for you.
Big hugs :console2:

Hi @BeBe, I often find NSAIDS more effective than Tylenol also for certain types of pain. Also, wondering if you have tried over the counter muscle relaxers. Not sure if you can get them where you live. Here in Canada they go under the brand name Robaxall and Robaxacet. I was taking them last week for s severely strained neck. They did next to nothing for the neck, but they took away a lot of the sharp zaps that would occur while resting... likely related to spasms. Might be worth a try.

Cheers

@BeBe - I know that issue quite well. I think when I hyperextended and hurt the already inflamed psoas, I said a few choice words (that BS site would change to something less florid) quite loudly. Enough that my 17 YO son (I don't think I said anything he hadn't heard before since he didn't ask me to define or explain) actually left his computer game to help me. I used my walker that night and then my cane for the next few days. I can't say how long it took it to heal because I had a psoas injection a little less than a week later. It had been getting better but that definitely helped. I was also on a strong muscle relaxant and meloxicam already so didn't alter meds. After the first day, I alternated heat and ice (an hour or so at a time for each) - not sure which/whether either helped.

We both need to Tell these nasty psoas muscles to shape up! Get well my friend (and it might be worth a puppy to get you to come visit). :loveshwr:

@Bone-obo thank for the suggestion! I do have bonsai shears but I am more of an earthmover landscape gal. I have my own skidsteer...
I will just lay low for the rest of the week, plan the next project on paper.
@Mojo333 it's better today until I move certain ways... just have to remember to stop the certain ways...
@Layla I do appreciate the prayers. My guardian angel no doubt kept this from being worse?
Hi @wonkyhipoy
I do have some leftover muscle relaxers and will use them tonight. Last night was not much for sleeping.
I don't think we have OTC relaxers here in the states. At least ones that work ;)

This hip has been a trial since the get-go! I suspected it was overly traumatized during the surgery since the
Talk of the hospital was I had " a rough surgery " but no one would elaborate. Especially the OS.
I've overdone it at times but since my second hip surgery it is clear the second has been the easy baby. Just doing so well comparatively.
The first is the trouble child.
No choice but hanging on the recliner and icing, Aleve, cane. Bunch of steps backward but if it's what's needed then so be it.

Thanks for your support gang!

I do so hope it eases up, friend!
You deserve to get some relief from pain.
Healing hugs

Hi @BeBe :hi:
I hope you had a nice weekend.
Would love to hear things are easing for you.
Want you to move forward without pain, obviously your wish too.
Sending hugs and wishes for comfort. Hope you have a nice week!

@Layla
Hey good morning!
I finally have an appointment with the DO (osteopathic physician) who actually does spine adjustments too.
Not til Oct 26 tho. Hopefully this guy will be a good fit for me as I need a good general practitioner also.

I am still having around a 2-4 pain level R hip/etc spine issues with taking Tylenol 1000mg and Aleve 440mg daily.
This amount keeps the pain levels down to where I can walk without a limp and live my life.
That "live my life" part is where the big adjustments come in. I have really toned down the physical - just can't do it to the extent I could before hips went bad. Very difficult for me.

The puppy I'm fostering is going to her forever home this coming Saturday. She is such a cutie!
Then I am going to try to get back to my flip-house projects. Without physically overdoing. We shall see.
The pain can jump back up fast if I step wrong or overdo it. Or not even overdo - just do. We shall see.
Left hip is good no complaints.

Hope all is well with you too! I appreciate the concern and friendship you've shown holding my hand through these past long months.
It's been a year since I found the forum. What a blessing!

I'm excited for you in regard to the appointment with the Osteopath. I want to look into that a bit more, myself. I'd like to hear about it afterward, if you feel like sharing. I hope you find it beneficial, BeBe. I want to see you find relief.

I'll bet you got attached to the puppy. I hope it's not too difficult to "let go."
I guess with a plan and focus on other projects and goals you'll be busy.
Next week will already be 7 months for Righty and 4 months for Lefty. Time flies.
The holidays will be upon us in the blink of an eye.

Wishing you a week of comfort. Please stay in touch.
Love and hugs to you! :loveshwr: :friends:
@BeBe

Hi BeBe,
Happy Four Month Anniversary to Lefty!
Happy Seven Month Anniversary to Righty too! (tomorrow)
I hope you had a nice week and weekend.
Friday is your appt with the Osteopath. I hope it goes well, you'll have to let us know.
Wishing you comfort and a nice week :SUNsmile:
@BeBe

Hi @Layla !
Thanks for remembering my anniversaries. How time flies right?
I am doing better with the acute pain from my stumbles with the right hip.
The Aleve in the am helps the pain stay around 3-4. Hot bath before bed and ice overnight too.
But the biggest thing that has helped is the NOT doing anything too physical.
Bending and lifting is a big no-no. So I am kind of laying low just to see if curtailing my activities
quiets the psoas --ITB/bursitis--low back. And guess what it has! At least to a degree.
No doubt I could wake it all up again if I get physically busy.

I will keep you posted on my appointment with the OD.

Hi BeBe,
I'm happy to read you're doing better.
I hope you can remain less physical for awhile longer since you're noticing a difference.
I will be interested in what you hear at your appt with the Osteopath.
Enjoy the rest of the week!
@BeBe

:wave: Sure hope the osteopathic appointment brings some relief @BeBe !
Wishing you a Good Day!:roseshwr:

@BeBe just caught up on some of your most recent posts......so sorry you still have these ongoing problems' and hope that being stern with yourself and NOT doing things for a while (along with osteo) will eventually see them on the run. When you're used to being active it's so hard to ramp it right back, especially when you have big doggy eyes wondering why you're not doing the long walks with them any more.....the (misplaced) guilt is horrid!! Take care of yourself and I will cross all fingers and toes that they finally find the magic cure. Hugs :friends:

Hi @BeBe
Hope you're having a good weekend.
Wondering how your appt went on Friday with the Osteopath?
Hopefully you liked him and feel it's a good fit.
Best wishes for a wonderful week ahead!

Yoohoo! Where did BeBe go? As I deal with one doctor after another on my psoas issue, I think of you and wonder how you're doing. How did the visit with the osteopath go last month? Anything helpful suggested to get you back to your active self?

Looking up some oldies but goodies today.
Missing you, BeBe. :friends:
Nine months for Righty and six months for Lefty, coming right up.
I hope you're doing well. Want to send some holiday love and a big hug.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and happy healthy 2019!
@BeBe

Hi Everybody!:wave: @Layla @SaraK @anny @Mojo333
Its been SOOOO long! Just guess I ended up taking a bit longer break from BS than I intended.
Life gets in the way - then out of town family for the week of Thanksgiving. Of course I had a bit of
housekeeping to do before family got here:scaredycat:especially after puppy fostering...
On the hippy front I HATE to admit I am much the same.
Newest L hip is fine, the Oldest R hip is still a problem child. Just read prior posts ~ its same as before
OD appt was not as successful as I had hoped. Super nice guy just not a big enough bag of tricks...
He did adjust my low back but could not "release" my right side.
He suggested PT, then he went over the MRI of my spine and his recommendation was
pain specialist docs if I did not want a spine surgeon recommendation.
So there it is. :shrug:
Hip surgeon says see you in a year March 2019.
Pain specialist group near me focuses on cortisone injections which are not for me.
I did have an appointment with my integrative medicine doc last week and he suggested acupuncture.
That is one thing I have yet try. I would have to travel for this as I have no good recommendations locally.

So I am not sure what to do next. I am actually considering prolotherapy once again.
I have pain level of 3-6ish depends on what medication I take
and how active I am.
So I just don't do alot of things that aggravate the pain threshold.
Which is why it took me three weeks to clean my house for Thanksgiving...
AT this point I try to ignore the fact that my right side is not right...I am walking and talking and "typing"
Just trying to put my hip woes behind me.
Maybe that's why I spent a few weeks away from BS.
Still
:ice::bath:
and looking forward to
:nativity:
:merry christmas:

He suggested PT, then he went over the MRI of my spine and his recommendation was pain specialist docs if I did not want a spine surgeon recommendation.
Can you find a PT who specialises in spinal issues? I worked with one post LTHR and it really did help. Acupuncture also helped. So sorry you are having to go through what I know is a frustrating process.

@Jaycey
BTDT - actually a couple times, last time developed a numbness in my left foot/toes and sciatica on right...PT suggesed spine surgeon...
I am going to look into acupuncture. I have no idea what to look for with that however.
