Bilateral THR Gretel post op<

Oh dear @Gretel we are not doing well. Having been told I will need surgery on both wrists in the future, I am now listed for an operation on a finger on 3rd July. I will think of you on the 28th (allowing for the time difference). I won't forget as it's my birthday that day and I'm hoping to be doing something nice!

I hope your hips are doing well now. I tested mine fully in Switzerland recently - about 6 miles a day and much of it uphill, or so it seemed.

@EmEm not good news on your upcoming ops :groan: Sorry to hear it. My hips are behaving quite nicely thanks. Unfortunately I upset my back though. A physio visit helped a lot. It hurt a lot but it did help. They’ve postponed my eye surgery. I’m really not happy about it. They rang yesterday to let me know they weren’t operating next week at all. They wanted to do it July 26 but were going to ring me back. Still waiting.

Thanks @Mojo333 i’m not looking forward to the op but getting very bothered by my vision going double much more frequently. Not sure when it will happen now  . Apparently my eyes will be red and sore for a while but not too bad.

Oh my stars...and they have got it delayed...
I hate you have to get it done but
I guess it's like out hips..no choices when it is affecting our lives like that.
I truly hope it's not so long.
Sending big old hugs to you.

Just stopping by to say hello and hope you are being super careful with that double vision complication.
No falling, promise?
I am on the way to harvest corn or of my sisters garden. We will break it, shuck and silt it, and she will cream it for freezing.
Silver Queen is the name of it...and it is the sweetest stuff !
Only bad part, is it will be 94F today.:groan:
Guessing it's cool where you are?

Hope your week is a Good week!:loveshwr:

Hi Gretel. Good to see you on the forum.
How did eye surgery go or had that not happened?
I've missed you.
Hope all is well.:tada:

Hey @Gretel
Thinking of you as you prepare for your eye surgery.
Prayers for your comfort,
Let us know how you're doing when you're able.
Hugs and a flower for you

Thanks @Mojo333 and @Layla for checking up on me :) It went well. She decided just to do one eye after all so only one sore eye. It’s not as sore as I expected and when I was out yesterday I had no double vision so looks like she’s fixed it :loveshwr: . The real test will be when I drive.

Wonderful news, Gretel!
I'm so happy to read all went well and you only had to have the procedure on one eye.
Best wishes all heals as it should and you can drive safely as you're hoping.
Thanks for updating. Please stay in touch.
A great week to you!
@Gretel

@Gretel, Happy 10 month anniversary! I hope your hips are doing well. Also hope the eye operation has cured your problem and that you are safe to drive.
My hip is great but I really don't recommend finger surgery because it still hurts some of the time and looks twice as big as the other fingers. Not helped by me having to use it to work.

Hey my hippy pals! Sorry about your poor finger @EmEm but hope both of you ladies are doing well on the hip front.
Gretel, I love when I see you post as I think of you often and hope things are well with you.:loveshwr:

Happy 10 Month Anniversary! @Gretel
I hope you're feeling the benefits of the eye surgery.
Have a great weekend...early Saturday morning here as I type.
Probably Tuesday by now in your part of the globe, lol.
Hugs!

Oh my goodness I forgot the 10 month anniversary! Must be cause I’m feeling good :curtsey: Thank you! Happy Anniversary @EmEm . I’m sorry your poor finger is so sore. I hope you’re improving very soon. I am so enjoying being able to see properly. I see the surgeon for a check up on Tuesday but it seems to be healing well. I have no pain now and the white of my eye is now pink rather than red.

:egypdance:back in the pink!
Gretel is on the move!
Look out world!:tada:

Wonderful news, Gretel!
You sound happy :)
I hope you get a good report when you see the eye doctor on Tuesday.
A great week to you!
@Gretel

Well I was happier before I saw the eye specialist. I hadn’t realised the vision in my operated eye was much worse! So I’m not getting double vision but I could only read the two top lines of the eye chart. She said nothing has been done that should affect my vision so hoping it’s just the eye drops messing me around. I have to go back in three weeks.

Sorry to read that @Gretel, perhaps our hips were easier than we thought at the time! How long do you have to use the drops for? Thankfully a Dr friend saw my finger at the weekend and said it looks good and that fingers do take a while to recover.

Hi @Gretel
Hopefully you can just wait out the prescription and things settle then.
If not, there's a solution. Just like there was with our hips! So try not to be disheartened.
How are those hips doing these days? Can you believe it will be a year already, in less than two months?

Good news on your finger @EmEm
I'm happy for you to hear it's looking better.

Hugs to you both!

Hi my Bilateral Buddy.
Good to see you pop about on the forum bringing some comfort to others do they can see we indeed survive those first recovery challenges.
I had done great folks here to hide me through it...as documented as you know on my thread. Very patient with me stressing over all the things we can't know.:sorry:
That's why I feel so grateful for Bonesmart.
Gretel post-op also has her humor going....It's good to hear you sounding well.:friends:
