    THR Not going as planned

Ok. I’ve got a question. What does it mean to have a muscle “released?” My groin muscles are tight a lot. A little painful when I’m climbing a hill. 5 weeks till I go back to work and I’m pretty worried.

    THR Not going as planned

Well, I over did it yesterday(Sunday). Walked my very hilly 2 mile walk. But I thought I’d take it farther, so I passed the house and tried to take it another mile on flatter terrain. About 1/4 mile into it, my hip flexor and thigh started hurting. By the time I got home, I was limping pretty...

    THR Not going as planned

Got a question. I don’t know if there’s any way to answer this. My new concern is developing tendinitis or bursitis after I go back to work, since I’ll be so active. Is there any way to know the chance of developing those, or anyway to prevent it? I have a friend who tore his ACL. He came back...

    THR Not going as planned

I was talking to my mother about other people recovering so quick and she said, “well, you don’t know if they’re telling the truth.” I said, “why would anybody not tell the truth about that?” I guess, from reading the stories, there are several causes of that.

3 months? Way too soon. What’s he do? I don’t know how much it’s my employer v they can’t say anything at this point. Stretching and light yoga is actually what I do every morning. My surgeon let me extend my disability till oct 4. He actually ask me how long I wanted to wait.

    THR Not going as planned

I have no intentions of running anymore. Personally, I think it’s really dumb to run after a replacement. Went for the same 2 mile walk today. Last time I stretched after I walked. This time, straight to the recliner. That seems to have been a mistake. After an hr of watching tv, I got up...

Yeah. I was at 3 1/2 months before I finally felt like I would eventually go back to work.

Yeah the quick recovery seems pretty rare but every time I see “i’m 5 weeks PO and I hiked 3 miles today”(or something to that effect), it kinda sucks.

    THR Not going as planned

Well, it’s been a couple weeks since I posted. So here’s an update. I’m 3.5 months PO. Things continue to improve slowly. Had appointment with surgeon on August 9th. I thought they were going to X-ray, but he didn’t. He just talked about recovery. I guess since I’m continuing to improve, slowly...

It was just weird the way it appeared. It was like I had mashed the swelling out or something. But since it didn’t hurt, I just kinda forgot about it.

I still have a small bit of swelling directly on the side of my hip. I can feel it if I rub both hips and I can feel the difference. I’ve read the swelling could take up to 6 months for it all to go away. I’m not doing any exercises. I’ve just started walking instead. I thought I’d walk 3 times...

    THR Not going as planned

Okay everybody. I’ve got a question. I was massaging my surgical scar a few weeks ago. I got on it pretty hard for a few minutes. When I got done, there’s actually an indention in my leg where the scar is. No pain or anything, it’s just sunk in slightly. Now, about 3 weeks later, it’s still...

    THR Not going as planned

Thanks Layla. I’ll definitely keep updates. I didnt watch the video. I’d probably get sick. But I am realizing it’s harder on the body than I realized. I think the 3 month return to work schedule that the surgeon gave was overly optimistic and then when I wasn’t ready I started thinking...

    THR Not going as planned

Thanks for the responses everybody. I quit doing them at home. I do some light stretches for my back(pelvic tilts), calf stretches, and light hamstring stretches. I did go to PT last week, but I’m seriously considering stopping. It does SEEM like I feel less pain the longer it’s been since I’ve...

“We are sold a bill of goods.” You got that right. The way the doctor talks, you’d think you’ll be feeling like a brand new person by this time.
