    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Today I received two calls from Zimmer Biomet for additional information concerning my M2A implants. They would like me to send additional reports, x rays and whatnot that I have on hand. I wonder what this is all about? I gave the FDA permission to share my report with Zimmer already.

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Ok so, I was called by the doctors office and was told that my surgery will be moved out to June. My surgeon wants to have a cell salvage machine available for my surgery and is having difficulty finding a nurse with the certification to run it. He has tried to reach out to other hospitals but...

Ah! I still don't have a date! The doctor is having a problem assembling a team for my special needs. They promised to get back to me this week.:(

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Tapan, I'm hoping it won't be too bad, I guess I'll find out when the doctor gets in there. I'm not looking for a miracle . I'd be happy if I can walk to the back of the store to get a gallon of milk without the dull ache. I was told to call Monday for a date for the first hip.

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

As of right now I'm looking at the beginning of May. I'm back to work full time but I'm on light duty. I'm trying to be real careful and not cause a repeat of what happened in January. I still feel like something is moving down there that shouldn't be and when I lift anything over 30 pounds, I...

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Yesterday i reported my problems with the Biomet M2A to the FDA. These implants are no longer used in Europe or Australia but so far haven't been recalled here in the US.Go figure. Maybe, if enough people report there issues something will be done. There are so many problems with this device I...

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Yesterday I met with Dr. Ginetti of the U of R medical center and he seems to be a good fit for me. He took the time to explain everything to me, what options he's considering and seemed sympathetic to my problems. He believes he can help me but also didn't make any crazy promises. I had to go...

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

I went to my appointment and was very disappointed. I drove an hour and 45 minutes through the great snow, sleet, rain and sleet again storm of NY state to spend an additional hour sitting in the waiting room to get ten minutes with the doctor. He was clearly agitated and spent the first 5...

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Thank you, lots of good advice here. I thought the metal particles came from the West of the ball and socket rubbing, they can come from elsewhere also? Geeze! Auto correct stinks, I meant I thought the particles came the ball and socket rubbing not from the stem.

Too young for THR - Upstate NY!

I have never understood this reasoning,if you need a new joint you need a new joint whether you are 30 or 60,try another doctor. I was 47 when my doctor told me I needed a replacement. I don't know where you are in upstate but I went to Dr Colucci of oar in rochester. I had my surgery at unity...

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

My doctor is part of a group Orthopedic Associates of Rochester, there is a revision specialist Dr. Klotz who is one of the best. The doctors routinely pass patients to another doctor when something isn't their specialty. I will inquire when I get in for my appointment.

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Well, I can't get in to see my surgeon until the 12th of next month, and if I have anything to say about it I'm getting both hips taken care of although it will be two separate surgeries. I'm not going to keep a ticking time bomb in my right hip just because it has a little less fluid than the left.

    Bilateral MoM heading for revision

Back in 08 I had bilateral hip replacements. I was only 49 at the time so my surgeon decided to go with a pair of Biomet m2as. Well, three weeks ago I got a severe pain in my left hip and a less severe ache in my right. I was seen by the PA in the office who examined me and sent me for blood...
