I'm Back!
Right total knee booked for17th March.
Previous left TKR 10 years ago on 18th March 2013, long story (on Bonesmart!) Revision of Left TKR 12 August 2014.
Since last TKR's diagnosis of RA on top of the severe OA (how lucky am I!) (also waiting for my right thumb to be fused! - I'll...
Hi Everyone, I’ve seen Orthos and the verdict is....
'There is nothing to be done surgically which could have any guarantee of improving knee. Post in tibia is stable.'
Due to my RA it is likely to be that making pain worse. Advice is I have to learn not to over do it! Referring to physio (and...
Thank you - I can’t decide if i am relived X-rays show losening as the symptoms suggest it or if I am a bit devastated that after TKR in 2013 and revision in 2014.
But I will carry on regardless - like I say with my RA I prefer to LIVE with it than suffer with it.
Thanks again @Josephine...
Hi @Josephine I would be really greatful if you could let me know your opinion of my X-rays.
The report says “increased latency anterior aspect underneath the tibial tray indicative of loosening. Further lutencies noted medically and laterally underneath tibial tray at the cement bone interface”...
@Cementless yes I am cemented! I have no idea what the OS will say at the appointment, I will be interested in his approach / plan and questions. Because I have now had my Rituxumab infusion I am actually a bit more relaxed as I know I have a wait at lease 5-6 months before anything would be...
@Cementless - I’m waiting for my OS appt on 7th September so will see what they have to say.
I have an oxinium implant so will also be interesting if any comments re allergies are made as I’ve never had allergy testing as such just allergic to metal things (jeans buttons, my glasses and any non...
I have just realised I haven’t updated - so I was going to be seeing a surgeon who had never done a revision! So after a few phone calls and a sensible but frustrating wait I am now seeing a surgeon very experienced in revisions on 7th September.
Because of my RA treatment of Rituxumab...
Hi @Luv2Garden what a journey you have had. I can’t offer any specific advice I’m afraid - I’m in a similar situation having had L TKR March 2013, revision August 2014 and now waiting for appt (7th Sept) as current one has loosening on X-Ray, pain +++, limited mobility and also had a diagnosis...
Thank you for changing my title - please could it have a slight edit to reflect the RA as I believe this is a massive factor now - thanks
So I had an X-ray on Wednesday 30th May, phone call from GP on Thursday 31st appointment to discuss it on 1st June and now I have an orthopaedic appointment...
Hello
Please could one of the moderators change my thread title please?
Could it be...
OA, TKR, Revision, RA, now loosening.... the journey continues!
Thank you
Shortie x
Thank you all - X-ray report says “increased latency anterior aspect underneath the tibial tray indicative of loosening. Further lutencies noted medically and laterally underneath tibial tray at the cement bone interface”
So that’s not good - also had X-ray on Wednesday afternoon GP rang on...
So a new chapter!
RA continues to be troublesome - Ritixumab has worked a bit but still needing steroids - all joints are painful wrist splints at night, lots of meds.... never ending RA stuff.
But the double whammy (or it maybe the triple) my revision has loosening on the tibial plate...
