I hope it gets better. I’m hurting too. Off opiated two days and all my other aches and twinges came back.
I’ve hit a plateau I guess. The home isometric exercises seem easier and I’m getting around fine but my checkin with PT isn’t until next Friday. Staples are out on Wednesday too...
I wonder how much the threat of a lawsuit plays in doctors not wanting patients to go home alone? Or if it has more to do with medicine being a “one-size-fits-all” instead of considering individual abilities?
My surgery was May 14th. I was the 8 am, first of the day, first of the week.
I’m doing more of the isometric exercises and enjoying the feeling of mastery over my body. I walk too. It’s hard to believe that I’m so fortunate as to have this second lease on life so I’m profoundly grateful...
Yes I had to go to Rehab since the doc wouldn’t let me go home where I was going to be alone. I did the surgery through the VA and they don’t have home health so Rehab was it. Next time I refuse to go to rehab. My “Aunt Martha” will come to visit!

I’m doing fantastic. The PT, nurses etc can’t believe it has been such a short amount of time since surgery. I went to a nursing home last Thursday and was there till today. The PT swapped me from walker to cane as I walk more upright that way. I’ve been feeling some pain but the only bad...
My surgeon released me to a rehab facility to continue working my recovery. The food is better even! But so many very pitiful people. It’s sad.
I feel like I’m making good progress.
I’m glad I continued to try to exercise before my THR because having decent core strength is sure handy.
I was on my feet in the afternoon of my surgery, side-stepping with the walker and started the bed exercises. The next day took a walk twice a day with the PT to the nurse’s station using...
I’m scheduled for May 14th for left total hip replacement. Anxious! I’ve never had major surgery. But I’m sure it’s going to be worth it to get a better level of function back.
