Well here is my latest blog post.
Living MY Life....Enjoying The Moments
http://newkneesat31.wordpress.com/2012/10/24/living-my-life-enjoying-the-moments/
Well I survived the trip and working for 4 days in a row with crazy hours. Got a blog post running crazy in my head so expect something new in the next day or two.
Thanks everyone, and don't worry I am going to listen to my body. Good thing is that my bosses know that I am only 12 weeks (today) out of having both knees replaced so they know if I say I need to slow down and just sit for a few I need to. Good thing is that I am feeling way better now than I...
Tomorrow is the day. Flight is shortly after 2pm and I will be off to Iowa for the weekend. Things are looking up with the company wanting to talk with me about a full time position rather than contract work. Not entirely sure what all is going to be involved with the full time position but I am...
Thanks for reading it Gran. It has gave me a place to go and just let whatever is on my mind be heard in a centralized place. Just keep on doing what you are doing and remember to listen to your body.
Just ask Nyland, I have progressed much faster than her and she was looking at me the same way you are both of us. I actually amazed myself and didn't expect to be hoping onto a plane in less than a week let alone doing so to go stand on my feet for hours on end to make some money again.
Good news is that the swelling went down pretty quickly with the icing, just a minor bit of pain remains when I was going up the stairs to get my laundry (thankfully I am done with that).
I would take that as an explanation if I have been in my car since last weekend. Honestly I haven't left the house since last weekend so who really knows. Just hope it calms back down before Thursday when I am flying to Iowa for work.
I agree with everyone above me, find you an OS who will look at your quality of life and not your age. I am only 31 and had both of my knees replaced 11.5 weeks ago and it was the best thing I have done. I am slowly getting back to a "normal" lifestyle and don't have to constantly worry about if...
Not sure what has happened but I woke this morning with pain in my right knee. Didn't think much of it and didn't even look at it until I went up the stairs a little while later to put some clothes in the wash. I felt pain in that knee again and when I got upstairs looked down and noticed that...
I got the same looks when I told people that I got both done, now I thought those looks were mainly because I am only 31 years old but I guess some could be because I had both done at the same time. My thought was, One Surgery, One Recovery, One Rehab.
You are pretty much like me with your...
It sure can, I used this past weekend as a trial since I was going out of town to watch some hockey with friends. Ended up driving 6+ hours on Sunday along with all the walking that surrounds going to a sporting event. Luckily I didn't feel bad that evening or the next day, besides having my...
Sounds like things are getting better, besides the jerk of a surgeon. I feel lucky that I have a surgeon who doesn't feel like that and that I also have a general practitioner that will give me refills if needed (that's probably cause the first time I ever saw her she asked if I needed any pain...
Well I am a week out from hitting the road (6 days to be exact). My first trip takes me to just outside of Des Moines Iowa. I am both excited and well excited. Can't wait to get back out there and as the title of my latest blog states, Back Into The Game.
Things are continuing to improve and I...
Yeah I'll be flying to each destination but I don't see that as being an issue. I will plan on getting up and moving around at least once during my flights just to get the blood flowing. Even before my surgery I was flying and would have the same uncomfortable feeling that you explained above...
