    Spider Veins?

I have had spider veins since I was in my 20's, but have noticed since my BTKR that I have TONS more below my knees! Just adds to my "lovely" scars LOL. I wondered if it had to do with the tourniquet that they apply during surgery. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?

    Bilateral TKR 5 months BTKR

Mimi, swelling is mostly gone. Flexion is at ~105 which is 25 degrees better than before surgery. I am really hoping to gain more. I am getting one of those big exercise balls because one of the ladies on here had the same surgery as me and said that it really helped her flexion. I still...

    Celebrex dependency ?

I have not heard that Mimi. I took Celebrex leading up to my BTKR, and I think it is a miracle drug. My dad had a massive stroke, and that is the ONLY reason I don't take it daily. It scares me with me being only 54, but that drug helped me more than any antiinflammatory that I have ever...

    Airport Security

They do not pay attention to the cards, and prepare yourself, because you are gonna get the full body patdown! I flew in August and both times had to do it! Oh...I love your shirt!

    scar tissue holding me back

I just had lysis of adhesions this past Friday on my right knee, and I am sooo glad I did. My knee was stuck @ 86 degrees, and as soon as he cleared the scar tissue, it went straight to 115 without him pushing it. I am in PT now, and it is a little swollen, but still getting about 110, first...

    TKR Anyone with this problem?

I also had alot of hip pain along IT band. I had a cortisone shot in my hip, and got massage therapy. With the massage, is when the pain started to go away, and don't have any now.

    Bilateral TKR 5 months BTKR

Thanks Mimi, it really is better, swollen and sore, but much better flexion than before the surgery. Thinking it might all work out after all!

    Bilateral TKR 5 months BTKR

Surgery went off without a hitch. Even with surgical discomfort I can tell how much flexion improvement there is. Dr said knee frozen with scar tissue, would have never gone beyond 86 degrees and in fact could have regressed if the scar tissue cont to form. He said once he released the scar...

    TKR post-surgery depression

Hi Karen, I hope you are feeling better, remember antidepressants work well, but sometimes take awhile to "take hold". Most work once you reach a certain level in your blood. I was sooooo depressed after my BTKR, I cried everyday, multiple times most days for a few months. I thought it would...

I did it at about 3 months and I get 1 almost every month. I was really nervous the first time, but I just make sure I don't have any skin breaks and hope for the best....love having pretty toes!

Re: intro I had both my knees done at once, and I took the Percocet 10/325 for at least 12 weeks regularly and then a couple of times a day. It took til 5 months out before I stopped them altogether, they make me feel really queasy and dizzy, but will take that over pain all day long. It is a...

TKR My second worse fear- I finally had a fall

So sorry about your fall, that has been a worry of mine since my BTKR. Luckily I live in Virginia, and it has been an amazingly mild winter. Hope it's not bad news at the surgeons!

    TKR still very tender

Yes I do, I had BTKR 9 1/2 months ago and no where near "normal". Some days are definitely better than others, but I still take Ibuprofen and Arthritis strength Tylenol nearly every day. It is much better than at first, and has been a VERY slow improvement process. I'm still waiting for the 1...
