Revision THR Hope for 2020, Revised THR

I can totally commiserate with you. I just quit PT too. It was simply causing more problems and pain.

As they’ve said take it easy, elevate, and stay on the 50-60 minutes of icing. It will improve and you can get on with your recovery. That’s my plan!

Thank you @ceezee Hope you start steadily improving too. It’s such a bummer to slide backwards. Appreciate your encouragement!

Oh my dear Fit4Family. :friends: So sorry for your setback and when you were doing so well. I do have my reservations about these Physio folk. I was going to see my Osteo/Physio man, a Dutchman who specialises in muscular/skeletal issues. However I have been suffering with constipation and resultant hemorrhoids (TMI) so have not felt like going out in public. Pharmacist has given me mild enemas! :flabber:

Friday I am 4 months and feel I should be further along, but .... It's this roller coaster we are on!

I am here with you and we will get over the hiccups. Have faith. I just wish the weather was cooler for recuperation. :swoon:

You are in my thoughts.

Hello Izzy! @Izabel ❤️

We are going to get through this! I made it down the stairs this morning (still dark) but in less pain, so going to continue resting today with ice. I’m so sorry about the pain and constipation. Hoping you feel like yourself very soon. If this works itself out I plan to continue rehab on my own. I’m with you on the heat. It’s not very appealing to walk outside when it’s hot and humid. We have a community center with a large indoor track fairly close by. After giving myself a good rest, I’m hoping to start walking there with my poles. The resistance bands were just too much for my weak ligaments and muscles. We will make it through this I am here with you friend. :friends:

Thank you for your encouragement and support! xx Sarah ❤️

Hello @SE Florida ❤️

You are so thoughtful to check on me. I am moving in the right direction. Still in pain, but much better than yesterday. Trying gentle hip flexor stretches and light walking every 30 minutes. Still icing every two hours. Going to wait to see OS as I’m really hoping it just goes away. Have canceled all future PT appointments.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

@Fit4Family, thank goodness to hear your update and it's better than yesterday. That's a great start! I'm glad to hear what you're doing with the ice and walking too. It's so frustrating with all of these ups & downs but sooner or later they'll be all "ups" but boy it's hard waiting! I'll be thinking of you, take care of yourself (!) and have a good day!

I come by to check on my sweet hippy pal, and she became a groupie for the bands...:flabber:
No to the bands... they were certainly not helpful to me:umm:
Hope things get better quickly...
Hugs @Fit4Family :friends:

“Groupie to the bands” Lol, @Mojo333

Thank you for helping me laugh about this. :heehee: It’s going to be awhile, but I think my “rest plan” is sort of working. Avoiding pretty much everything right now except ice.

Hope you’re having a good week!

Thank you @Hoppy Nanny Yeah, not going to be a quick fix. Think I’m in couch potato mode for awhile. How are you doing? Hope you are keeping out of trouble.

xx ❤️

Just an update

One week since I overdid it at PT. Woke up and don’t seem to have gripping pain today. Knocking on wood as I type. Can walk with cane without it seizing up on me. Continuing ice and rest.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Questions for those who had lingering issues with hip flexors.

I canceled all my upcoming PT appointments, as they put me in ODIC. Now I’m a little unsure and honestly afraid of what to attempt next. It’s been 8 days since I hurt my tendons with resistance bands. I’ve been icing and resting for 7 days. Today feel much less sore, but still using cane. (Wobble without) Earlier this week could not lift leg to pivot to left, put on pants, shoes etc. Today can pivot, but sore to lift leg more than 10 inches to pull on pants.

So, how long should I be in time-out?

Where should I start? (Have been doing light stretches and walking slowly inside with cane or poles)

Thank you Bone smarties. ❤️

@Fit4Family
I know a flexor is either a tendon or a muscle. I can't say about that, but last week I bent slightly to the left to drop a pair of shoes by my back door and instantly pulled a muscle in my lower back. Was not even doing anything. I've hurt that same muscle before, just moving wrong. I said, ":censored:", that's all I need now. It's been 10 days, much better, but it takes time for a sprained or pulled muscle to heal. When I sit it still stiffens up, it bothers me worse than my hip. But I've hurt it several times over the years, same side, so I already know I have to give it time, so I don't worry too much, just a real inconvenience right now. So you are noticing improvement, so I think it will continue to get better. It sounds like just a sprain or pulled muscle. You never know about PT, should I do this or not do this. Not your fault. Sorry you have to deal with it. :console2:
