Good job DebCoz. I will be 6 weeks on Tuesday post op Bilateral. I have not given up my pain meds yet as I find that it helps me work through my ROM better. I take only one oxy a day and I take that before bed so I can sleep. One thing you might want to consider is to use two or more pain meds before bed and if you have pain during the day. The docs talk about multi-modal pain relief now as the best way to control pain. So for instance, when you take your allele, take some Tylenol as well. This will then help alleviate pain in two different channels and may help you to sleep better. My Flexion is at 100 both knees and 0 both knees. Stranger than fiction I am using a heated rice bag on my knees. My doc doesn’t know but I “gotta tell ya,” it helps me tremendously. If I use heat before I do my exercises my knees are already “warmed up” and I can move more smoothly and with more ability to stretch my limits without pain. I know I shouldn’t advocate heat as it goes against the grain but I am finding that since I started this about 8 days ago, I have progressed more rapidly and I feel like I am making solid progress as I will have to go back to work in the not-too-distant future. It sounds like you are doing well if you are doing housework! My hubby is taking care of those things for me but I finally stated cooking dinners again, thank heavens, so that is a plus. Keep up the good work, DebCoz. We’re on the mend!
