Hi,
Just another thought camed to mind. I have both a STIM and a Tens unit of my own. Has anyone used either of these and at what point in time did you start using them?
When I Cervical fusion surgery awhile back I started the TENS unit in the hospital for pain relief and it worked really well on that.
I feel any pain relief I can get would be good and it is not narcotic.

I have a friend who is a PT and she let me borrow hers the day after I got home-literally day 4 after surgery! I can't tell ya the relief it sometimes gives me. Sometimes not-but usually, it helps.
Welcome to the group-they've been immensely helpful to me already and I've only been on here about a week.

When I went to outpatient PT at three weeks post-op they started using the e-stim on me when they iced the knee at the end of my therapy sessions. It helps the swelling for me.

Yes as recommended settings may need to be discussed.

Yes, I agree....talk it over with your therapist.

It helps at times, other times you can't tell whether or not it does.
I felt the same way about the ice too as it seems to make your knee stiffer.
Sometimes it seems as though nothin' helps but time.
It takes all of that and then some.
It's not an easy thing to go through, this TKR biz.
