It's a little difficult to know where to begin with a question like that, Emily! People have written books on it!

Why don't you tell us about yourself and what kind of things you want to know to start us off? And read around as Roy has said. Specially in the Library.

I also moved your post into it's own thread to is doesn't get lost in the other one.

Hi and welcome. Maybe once you've looked at some of the articles in the library you'll have some specific questions to ask. We are all happy to share whatever insights our own experiences can give.

Hello, and welcome to our forum family! You ask about the pro's and cons of having a TKR. there are many factors to consider---about how you feel now, about how your life has been impacted by arthritis, how you feel about having the necessary surgery, and how you feel about the ensuing recovery and rehab sessions.

I can tell you that I had a BTKR over four years ago, and the recovery was longer than I expected it to be---as are many recoveries---but my life after my BTKR is so much better, so much more active---and so very pain-free that I am tremendously glad that I had the BTKR done.

Have you taken a look at the forum library yet? It is full of very good articles that may answer many of your questions about the TKR, the recovery, rehab, life after the TKR, and issues associated with the surgery and recovery.
