    1. Please note that while new members can receive Personal Messages, they cannot send them until they have made 10 posts.

    2. We would also request that wherever possible you don't take discussion into PMs as they are not then accessible to guests or to searches on the forum. Remember how you came to this forum searching for something in particular and had that snippet of information had been put into a PM, you wouldn't have found it.

    How to send PMs
You can have them one-on-one or with group of up to five (5) people. Just put their names in the box separated by a comma ','

The "Start a New Personal Message" can be found in several locations - here are the most popular:

    1. At the InBox

    2. By clicking on the other person's avatar or name in their post box.
This brings up what is known as an Overlay - or in more familiar words, a pop-up!

    3. In your In-Box, under the list of previous PM titles (if you have any!)

Now you are taken to the new message page where you can add other member's names separating them with a comma (,)

By ticking the boxes at the bottom, you can also apply other controls like
"Allow anyone in the Personal Message to invite others"
"Lock Personal Message (no responses allowed)" but do remember that if you do this, it will also include the person you have PM'd!

When you "Send Personal Message", the persons you have added to the address list will be sent an alert advising them they have mail!

When somebody replies to your post, you will get an email alert which you SHOULD NOT REPLY TO. It's merely an alert sent out by the forum robot and if you reply with it, your message will not be seen by your fellow correspondents in the PM. Such an email looks like this and you can see various information including a link which will take you to the actual message

    3c conversation.JPG
    1. information about the email, who sent it and how to stop receiving such emails
    2. instructions about the email and not to use it to reply
    3. a link to the message but you will need to long in to access it
    4. description of what this email is and who sent it
