Is April the month you plan to find the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow? Congratulations!!! And we invite you to join the BoneSmart group, April Rainbows. As a team, you will have people like yourself going through surgery at the same time to talk with. We find this works really well to deal with concerns and provide support to each other.

Let us know your surgery date and join the group!

Welcome to our latest and all April Rainbows!

LT Knee Replaced - March 17, 2015.
LT Hip Scheduled to be replaced on April 21, 2016.
Anxious and ready for the constant pain to go away.

I am scheduled for my left hip replacement with Dr. Clairbaux at Virginia Mason in Seattle Washington on April 4th, 2016. Originally scheduled for Dr. Barrett, but my cardiologist recommended a cardiac anesthesiologist and VM didn't have them. I only found this out 1 week prior to my surgery! So, I have asked many of my thoracic surgeon friends and other cardiologist and they feel that is not really necessary even with my present aortic condition. So, I am excited to get this done, my singles tennis game is struggling and getting tired of losing to players I should be beating... And... tired of the pain after playing. Apparently my surgeon uses the AMIS method from Medacta Swiss company and has had many successful operations. So many, he's doing them 3 times a week at 4 a day. It was my mom who had a friend who recently had her hip done by him and since the Dr. Barrett thing didn't work out, I think it is a blessing in that I found this surgeon who is highly regarded for HIPS, that's pretty much all he really does. Thanks... Brian :)

My total left hip replacement is scheduled for April 18th. Looking for information on how to prepare.

Surgery date correction:
21 April 16 DejaVu2 <--- Sorry, I think listing my TKR 1st might have messed things up. (btw, I love the cat pic so much I'm using it for my profile!) Once again, sorry about the confusion. :sigh:

@DejaVu2, your surgery date has been officially corrected! Happy to have you use the pic for your avatar.

Having RTHR April 20th. Will also have TKR of both knees, each at a separate time. Hopefully I can get both knees done this year but my surgeon has a long wait list so one of the procedures may have to be next year.

Scheduled for RTHR on April 6th, posterior with Zimmer cementless implants, ceramic head and highly cross linked polyethylene acetabulum cup. Hope all goes well. Any tips for preoperative fitness or workouts...dos and donts....!!!!

I had my right THR on Jan. 4, 2016 and my left THR has now been scheduled for April 11, 2916. I had to wait for the left because of a Medicare 90 day required wait between ops. So ready to be both sides equal. Whoohoo!

April 5th, 2016
Left hip (first ever surgery of any kind) from AVN
Anterior approach / same day home program.
God bless you all on this journey.
