TKR Almost 5 years post RTK, still having issues

I had TKR in December of 2011 and a total revision in Sept of 2015. I have similar issues to yours. I have tried Physio, massage, exercise, no exercise, etc Last year I connected to a wonderful specialized pain clinic. They offered prolotherapy injections, basically dextrose and sucrose. It’s...

MUA Knee is worse after TKR

I’m not sure we should immediately blame the person for overdoing. Sometimes there are soft tissue issues that need to be sorted out. I know this is a bad time to see doctors but when things settle I would suggest you call the surgeons office and see him/ her ASAP. If they tell you that...

    TKR Pain after 5 years

And sometimes they are not a perfect fix. I had a RTK replacement in Dec 2011 and a revision in Sept 2015 and mine acts up from time to time when I walk more than usual or lift heavy things ( or it just feels like it ..) But beware. If the swelling / pain gets worse or doesn’t resolve check back...

    TKR Now considering LTKR

You’re right of course. It’s just that I haven’t been able to exercise or even walk much and I would like to be on better shape before I start this again. I keep wondering if it makes a difference if you wait longer for the replacement or not. This knee has been bone on bone for about 8 years.

    TKR Whole leg pain

I may be way off here. I’m certainly in agreement with all the others about not overdoing , etc but to me that sounds like sciatic nerve pain ... good to discuss with your doctor

TKR Tendinopothy after knee TKR and revision

Sorry for the long silence. It’s been a hard few months with little progress. My pain clinic includes a psychologist who was working with me on ‘radical acceptance’ of chronic pain. And then, one day, the pain started to be less frequent and now is virtually gone (though I’m almost afraid to say...

    TKR What now...

Oh I feel your frustration. I am now 4 years post TKR revision. I have felt discomfort on the inside of my knee since the surgery and have been told to do PT, massage, etc. About 4 months ago something ‘gave’ on both the inside and outside of my knee. I am trying prolotherapy , seeing a PT and a...

TKR Tendinopothy after knee TKR and revision

The surgeon I see is considered the #1 . I have a pain specialist who has reviewed my xrays and agrees that the surgical components are all strong. Apparently tendons and ligaments were rearranged during my revision surgery leaving some potential weakness. The surgeon is quite dismissive of this...

TKR Tendinopothy after knee TKR and revision

It is now 4 years and I am having serious issues with the tendons on both sides of my knee. It’s possible this is related to problems with my spine which left me walking awkwardly a year or so ago. I have had what the surgeon called chronic tendinitis sine the surgery but this has been much...

Revision TKR Complicated RTKR revision 2015, considering LTKR

Hi all. I've been busy with life stuff as have we all I suspect but wanted to drop by with some positive news for a change. For whatever reasons, my knee has finally decided it's time to start healing. I'm rather suddenly able to walk much farther with very little discomfort and almost never any...

    Knee Infection Finally Finishing Up

Hi Peggy - just seeing your thread for the first time. Wow - you've been through a lot ! As one of the 'lucky' ones who's had a complicated recovery I know how frustrating it can be. You do sound so positive which is great but be sure you do everything to take care of yourself , especially when...
