As an update. The severe tendonitis really bothers me. I still haven’t had my thumb fusion because of the corona virus. And rehab exercises for the tendonitis involves flexing the wrist. Ugh!!
The best part of my fusions is that I have no more pain in my wrists. I drive with no problem. But I am using tendons and ligaments that are not usually used for certain tasks. So I have pain in my elbow area. I can no longer write legibly and picking things up from the floor is difficult...
I have trashed shoulders and do not want surgery. I have had bilateral knees and then both revised, hip replaced, both wrists fused. CMC arthroplasties (both) and then revised..bilateral carpal tunnel surgery and just recently a lumbar fusion and a spinal stimulator. I am surgeried out. I don't...
I am not doubting you. I am very much against the guy with the yellow hair. I am just saying that hopefully the system can be tweaked so that it works better for all. There are stlll issues that need fixing.
I have many pre existing issues. So I know personally about the impact that disolving...
@SuperSnapper.. I would never ever touch a NSAID again ever. There are other drugs out there today. I have been on hydromorphone (Dilaudid) for a long time. For me it works.
I also have CKD but I am under the care of a nephrologist. I believe I have it from my excessive use of NSAIDS before I knew better. I use Dilaudid for pain relief.. No contrast for MRIs.. And I personally keep tabs on my blood work. I recently had surgery and the surgeon ordered meds that...
I heard from John's wife today and he got through the surgery ok. Definitely infected but no damage to bone and tissues. Thanks everyone for welcoming him. I know he will be back once he can.
@RestAssured @Jamie @Josephine
This is a friend of mine. Retiring Tues and going in for surgery Wed. Told him about BS so wanted him to hopefully get some input and help him go into surgery feeling better.
Thx
Merry
Technically you only have to get an ABN if the procedure is over $500 for US Medicare. Have had 15 surgeries in last 5 yrs (including 7 joint replacements) and with Original Medicare (not HMO) and a Medigap policy and 6 yrs of PT I have never paid a dime. Please be sure you have that 2nd policy.
This surgery is expensive. You want to have insurance and you can drop it after the surgery if you need to.
To give you an example.. My BTHR was about $8500 just for the surgeon. Medicare approved about $1800 and between Medicare and my secondary I paid $0. The dr had to write off the...
We are so glad that you have found this great family.
No, it is not fraud at all. When you turn 65, you have to go on Medicare. But your group health plan could become your secondary.
I totally understand the financial difficulties. Be careful when you choose a plan when open enrollment comes...
Oh so sorry to hear you are having issues. Can you see someone else. My goal was to be able to clean behind the toilet.. 90 degrees did not do it. You are entitled to a better life. We all know how pain becomes the center of one's life. Please find another doctor. Your insurance should cover it.
Thanks Sharon. I try the humor all of the time. Has gotten me through my worst moments. The cartwheels haven't come yet and I am disappointed. But it sucks to still be on opiates (though a low dose) for all of these years.
And having severe stenosis in my back doesn't help but I truly dont...
I totally understand the problems with insurance. You cannot be denied any longer for pre-existing conditions. Does your state have an exchange plan under "Obamacare"? Have you looked into that?
Have you looked into Medicaid?
I don't usually ask people to private message me, but since we need...
I think I has unusual experiences. I stayed first time in what was known as the Hyatt VI.. in the acute rehab section. The food was wonderful.. Steak.. Perrier water.. I kid you not. Staff wonderful very high end.
The second time.. As the Vi didnt have room I stayed at the other high end...
