    TKR Back again!!!

Hi everyone, Thought I'd check in again and say hi!!! 8weeks tomorrow and I have had a couple of milestones this weekend so thought I'd share them. Yesterday I went to the pool. When I finally got the courage to strip off and get in I was really surprised that I could actually swim and kick my...

    TKR Back again!!!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all feeling well. I had a bit of a downer day yesterday, no reason as you know it just happens. Better today and feel like I can finally sit still long enough to visit the hairdresser this afternoon, so I'm sure I'll feel better once this mop head is tidied up. I just...

TKR Extreme sensitivity after TKR - resolved

Same here! I have that sensitivity in one spot near the bottom of my scar and the inside of my leg. I find massaging cream into it settles it even though it doesn't feel great to start with. The numbness goes eventually and I also have the experience of touching one spot and it registering in...

    TKR Back again!!!

Thanks cookie42. I hope it's not long until you stop hurting. It's such a long journey isn't it? I'm having a bit of an uncomfortable day today but I just look at that as a bit more healing happening!!!!!! ( Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it) :) Take care and happy healing everyone

TKR Should I still feel this pain after 11 weeks?

I am with the others and particularly like the mantra, We moved house the week before my TKR and I am a bit of an organised person but I have just had to surrender and allow things and sorting to happen in their own time. Bit by bit it's coming together. You both need some assistance so...

PKR how are your old replacements doing

I have a six year old hip and a five year old knee. Neither give me any problem at all. Due to having a recent TKR I had x rays and both replacements are solid and stable. I guess very occasionally I might bend awkwardly and get a reminder they aren't actually the bits I was born with but then...

    TKR Back again!!!

Yes DHenry I know that tethered feeling well. I am a foster carer so I always had somewhere to go and something to do, having to rely heavily on other people to do this now is one of my greatest challenges. When I drove the other day it was after a relatively good night's sleep, where even...

    TKR Back again!!!

Funnily enough since writing this I have felt far more confident and comfortable wandering around the house unaided. As with Deedles8 I grab the walker first thing or when I'm up through the night when my leg feels more like a tree trunk than a functional limb. So onward and upward, thanks again...

    TKR Back again!!!

Just an errand trip and I didn't get out of the car. I took my daughter with me to do the errands and in case I couldn't drive back. It was all good and even extended the drive a bit by going through a McDonald's drive through for a coffee on the way home.
