Extreme pain 5 month post op

Lalyfa, As I recall you had some pretty traumatic experiences with your Surgeon and his manipulation of your leg. It's no wonder you are still feeling it's been a negative experience! My knee was so bad prior to surgery that I was falling down at times....and, oh, the pain! As soon as they had...

Extreme pain 5 month post op

I think all people scar differently. Mine is purple and lumpy in places and I'm about 11 weeks or so post-op. Not pretty....but worth every staple!

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

Finished my last official PT this morning with a ROM of 0/123. Finally! I was very impressed with the therapists as they were just what anyone would want who has had a knee replaced! Compassionate, encouraging, and they let me go at my own pace. I still have some notable weakness in that leg...

Bilateral TKR Calamity on the other side!

Welcome! Glad to hear from you. Yes, we all have had those 'hiccups' in the road. I've just recently gotten thru some myself and my surgery was June 24th! However, they get less scary each time they occur. I'm so impressed with every person who has BTKR! Just think, you may still have pain...

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

@ Josephine This is all I could find in the article about walking. Am I missing part of it? Or is it in a different article? Either way, I won't be doing that long of a walk for awhile! Weeks 4 and 5 Increase walks around, out in the garden or street, to 20 mins, longer if you feel up to it.

Josephine Thank you for your response. I still don't really understand how a tight IT Band affects the bursae but I will see my OS on Tuesday. I did read the article on Baker's cysts and knee bursae. I understand Baker's cysts as I've had that under each knee. Those drained on their own and...

    TKR Dip in optimism

I compare it to a roller coaster. Up and down.....but I'm sooooo glad I had it done. The small amount of pain I now occasionally have is a pain that I know will get better.....whereas the pre-LTKR pain was a pain that I knew would only get worse! :spin:

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

Hey, Whimsey3.... Dr. Craig did my meniscus repair last April. I think he is in with Dr. Been! Good guys! My flexion today was down to 118. Maybe because I have this weird fluid accumulated in one spot. My knee is hurting now. I haven't had anyone respond to my requests for help or info on here...

I have a pocket of fluid on my knee. Is there some way I can get rid of it? Massage?

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

denpucc, I was put on Ultram (Tramadol) when I was released from the in-patient rehab. It just seemed to make me drowsy...not really taking care of the pain. That was why I asked for something different. My OS prescribed Norco. That was better. It was around my 5th week that a LOT of swelling...

Whimsy3....I suspect you are right. I've spent today and yesterday in a 'blue funk' over this new issue. I so badly want to get out and do things....and I feel like I can, but............. I just can't seem to sit/lie down any longer. (AND, I sort of feel like people think, "Ok, it's been 8...

TKR 2 weeks, 2 days after LTKR, it's been tough

It sounds like you are doing great! I'm curious about the spasms. What are they caused by? I had a few that would wake me at night but they didn't last long.

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

Josephine Has anyone ever had bursitis occur after TKR? I am 8 weeks post op today and apparently have swelling/fluid in the bursa on the front on my left knee. ( As I look down at my knee it is on the left of the kneecap.) I'm worried that my 2 mile walk last Saturday did this! Was I being...

TKR Extreme sensitivity after TKR - resolved

I have something very similar to what you are experiencing. I have a numb, tingly feeling area around my toes and under them on the bottom of my left foot. I don't want anyone or anything touching me there. I also have had a numb area on the left side of my knee,( I had my left knee done), but...

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

Not sure if anyone reads this any more but I had something wonderful happen yesterday. I want to see how it looks printed down! I am 7 1/2 weeks post op now and yesterday morning I walked 2 miles with my daughter! It is the route that I used to walk 4 or 5 times a week until I just couldn't...

TKR 9 weeks post-op from minimally invasive TKR and this is not what I expected

Nerve pain? Perhaps that is what I'm having! Some times, out of the blue, it feels as if someone has popped me with a rubber band inside my knee! Talk about minimally invasive...I read someone's post on here who went home the same day as their TKR surgery! She seemed to be doing fine and was...

    TKR 12 Days Post-Op

I had a rather curious occurrence during my surgery. I woke up during it! I call it curious because I remember being awake and can quote what was being said around me at the time, and I know I was in pain because I was shaking my head and thrashing a bit, but I can't remember the pain. Thankful...
