MUA Excessive Knee Stiffness post TKR

I'm sorry you are so down on having had your TKR. And then to have had a manipulation also. The manipulation set your knee back, the soft tissues are angry. You aren't even 3 months into healing and your knee has had two separate surgeries that have it swollen and sore. I know you probably don't...

    TKR Terrifi

Can I be bold and ask 'why?' Why would the surgeon turn down this request? Surely he understands your reasons for asking for the stay. I guess I'll be tearing my hair out also. This makes me appreciate my surgeon even more.

    Revision TKR Revision failure

I am so sorry you have had such troubles. The two procedures you mention are totally different. If you need a larger spacer (button) that recovery is less than having an entire new prosthesis. To replace the spacer the prosthesis is left intact and just the spacer is changed. As the name implies...

TKR Differences between robotic & conventional in 2024

I will just piggyback off what others have said - its the skill of the surgeon & which procedure you are most comfortable with having. Also, your healing time will be approximately the same. My surgeries have all been traditional. That's just how its worked out.

    TKR SO MUCH PAIN?

Yes, I did have a tibial fracture. However, mine was caused by an over aggressive non-listening PT whom pushed my leg flat. I immediately complained something happened, but of course PT didn't listen to me. (I hate that many PT person's fail to listen to their clients. But that's another story.)...

Revision TKR 2nd surgery week after 1st because of fall

That's good news. But please keep in mind that you are in charge, not the therapist. Personally I had a very hard time telling them they weren't allowed to touch my knee - but once I said it then it became easier to repeat, if needed. Keep icing and elevating. Your poor knee has been through a...

Revision TKR Tibia fracture after TKR

I just had another thought - your shoes. Are you wearing the same shoes you wore prior to the revision? Clearly your gait is different now, but it could be possible that your shoe (s) are playing a role. If you think about it, they have been 'worn' with your gait totally different than it is...

    TKR Left knee quite painfull.

Jakemedic I can so relate to your comment!!But alas, that is far too much to use according to the dosage on the box! I do think it helps some. For that reason I thin its worth a try, if your doctor approves you using it.

    TKR Upcoming TKR

Welcome to the website. I'm glad you found us prior to your TKR. We are here to help you and answer any questions that you might have.

    TKR Traveling

As was stated, my concern would be the steps. Those can be doozies. Inside the motorhome you'll have a handrail, I'd assume on one side. However, not so much on the outside - which is where my concern is with. I'd make sure someone is beside me - but that's me.

    TKR indecision

As was stated, this is a personal decision that we can not and will no make for you. Each one of us is different & each recovery is different. Have you tried any injections in the knee? That is usually, I a usually, this first line prior to surgery. Did they provide any relief? Are you feeling...

    TKR Getting anxious

We'll all be with you through this journey. At your pre-op ask as many questions as you want - until you feel comfortable. Its perfectly reasonable to be nervous - I'd bet every one of us would admit to some level of nervousness prior to surgery. You've got this.

    TKR Benne68’s TKR #2 Recovery

Your surgeon knows what he's speaking about! I'm sorry about the swelling, without knowing it maybe you were up more than you thought? That ice machine looks very interesting. I've never heard of it. Ask for a cup of hot tea, put some music on and say your going to read - you'll nap immediately!!!

TKR Left TKR on January 4, 2024 (second knee)

Please rest assured that no hospital / facility will send you home before you need to be released. They will make certain your body is humming along in fine fashion prior to releasing you.

    Should I cancel surgery?

Jamie is so right. If the current therapist is not listening to you now that is a huge red flag to me. Yes its work for you to find someone whom will listen to you, but you will benefit greatly from finding the right therapist for you.

Revision TKR Tibia fracture after TKR

I'm touching base and checking in on how your doing. Please try to not over think this - easier said than done, I know. It was an excellent suggestion seeing if you could be discharged on the 25th. I would think traffic would be minimum to nonexistent. Report in.

Revision TKR Tibia fracture after TKR

If I'm figuring this correctly your surgery is scheduled for the 21st. Correct? Of course your nervous, scared, etc, its all part of it. Yes the timing with Christmas isn't ideal, but the next week I would think would be worse. But IDK. The hospital will be fully staffed, that's a given. Has...

Revision TKR Tibia fracture after TKR

I thought I'd reach out and see how you are doing. To see if you'd made any plans for a revision, or if your in a 'holding' pattern. There is nothing wrong with a holding pattern, its your knee, your body & you get to make the decision when to have the revision. Hope your doing well.
